Just a quick query for now. How interested would you guys be if I said I had an idea that could POTENTIALLY advertise DXX to the whole WWE Universe, as well as definitely advertise DXX to the viewers of one of the (if not THE - further research pending) biggest efed resource sites on the whole Internet, and also improve the site itself to the point of us having a dot com address, ad free and possibly even a premium chat box? And all for the cost of a single t-shirt?
I know one or two have said in the past they'd chip in if it improved DXX, and while DXX has never been money driven, and never will be money driven, I'm curious essentially how universal a thought that is? Just to be clear, I won't be taking a penny from this - this is a plan I originally thought up just for a viral ad campaign, but then I also thought about the potential extras we could squeeze out of it and figured it'd be worth at least asking the question.
Again, this is just an idea at this stage, but if enough people buy into it I reckon it could go huge. More details can be given if enough people would be interested in supporting it, but without that support it won't work - hence why I'm asking the question first. Be honest, it's not a problem. As I said its just an idea right now.

I would pitch in my share if I had a job. Without reliable income, I can't really do much Now if I did pitch in and this did not work to what you thought, I'd ask for my money back. No point in wasting money and it not working. If it did work (the preferred of course) then I'd be happy to keep it going and growing.

i wouldnt mind helping it out the more people the better Great stuff :-) I will give full details if enough people are interested, as I say it's just a general consensus at the moment, cheers tho mate! I would pitch in my share if I had a job. Without reliable income, I can't really do much Now if I did pitch in and this did not work to what you thought, I'd ask for my money back. No point in wasting money and it not working. If it did work (the preferred of course) then I'd be happy to keep it going and growing. Not a problem, thanks for your honesty :-) As far as the money back thing goes, you'd at least have a tshirt to show for your efforts :-P I wouldn't be seeing the money personally so it wouldn't be mine to refund unfortunately, but at least that gives people the security in knowing I wouldn't just be taking money and doing nothing with it - the money made would help offset the cost of improving the site to the standards I'm after basically, if that helps ease any similar concerns. In any case if you aren't in a position to participate - it really isn't a problem, as I said I appreciate the honesty :-) I would be more then happy to help out . I am for this. Cheers Justin :-)

I'm so glad you asked that Justin! Cost is being researched, but the look of it will be determined with a competition of this goes ahead. I will explain the full details a bit later on....

So we'd just have to pay the cost once or is this a monthly thing? If its once then I can probably do it

It'd just be once, basically you'd buy the t-shirt, and what YOU do with the T-Shirt is what gains the publicity and what I do with the money available from selling the T-Shirts which will give this place the premium features. I still have some working out to do but I'm hoping some good will come of it at the very least

OK, I suppose it might be worth spelling out my idea, it may put some off or interest others, I don't know - you might all think I'm just being plain stupid and tell me to cluck off, but whatever, here goes.
The T-Shirts would be available from somewhere like Cafe Press or Red Bubble. There would be one standard design - say, black, with the website URL on it, and a few custom designs made by the graphics community here, maybe in competitions etc. Obviously all copyrighted images are a no-no, but otherwise it's down to the individual's own creativity and rendering skills.
Anyway, members would purchase these (obviously not compulsory, just the ones that really wanted to take part). Now, the next question is, how many of you use Tout?
Due to WWE's latest "interactivity" with showing selections of Tout videos during RAW, the idea would be that participating members send their touts to WWE in the hope of getting them shown. It should go without saying, but these touts will involve the members wearing the DXX advertising T-Shirts. A few eagle eyed people may spot the URL and check it out, but if we manage to get a few members appearing on there then more people will notice it - one URL, popping up throughout WWE programming. A bit of a long shot perhaps, but that's the risk.
Now then, the "profit" made from the T-Shirts (which will be absolutely minimal in any case) would then go towards things like advertising on RoughKut, and purchasing some premium features like pro chat boxes, ad free, .com domains, that kind of thing. Should this plan go ahead, the profits from the t-shirts would be used to offset the cost of these - obviously, as and when I can, I'd stump up the majority of it, but this would just help to take the edge off of it. All and any profits made though, rest assured, would be invested back into the website - I wouldn't come away with any extra money from it at all, and would gladly keep people informed of how much of the money is being spent and where.
That said, it is probably a really long shot, it's just an advertising technique I hadn't really heard of before (at least not in this context) so thought it might be worth getting some feedback on.

You eejit !!!! Kidding I actually like the tout idea, that is unique and I'm sure if one of us were shown on RAW wearing that t-shirt with the url it would bring in tons of traffic (don't forget to add the copyright we had on the rebirth at the bottom!) For roughkut right now you can advertise on their forums, they're an e-fed database tons of people go there looking for e-fed and they have a section specifically for advertising your fed, they also have a section where people post about their character that are "free agents" looking for a fed, so that would be a good idea right now is advertising on their forums (and it's free!) same with e-fed knights, they're another one.

An even better idea, is for us all to synchronize a date for us to be on Twitter and use #DXX to just spam the s**t out of it. Surely, we can get DXX to trend and THAT could bring in interest as well.
Saves us money and all that too.

That's a good idea and would give us a lot of traffic, however how many of those people are Wrestling Fans and would join? that's the question you have to keep in mind. If we aim to WWE fans and TNA fans we know they're at least wrestling fans. On a side note: Mac if you need any help advertising I'm more then happy to help I have nothing to do for the next week until school starts :b
