Could be a game you spent hundreds on to get that limited edition this you immediately realised wasn't a good idea, or a game that just flat out sucked. Maybe a console purchase? What's your biggest gaming regret?
The biggest for me is Borderlands, I didn't have much money at the time so I could only afford a couple of games a year and I convinced myself I had to have it, but I hated it, Even tried it in co op and that didn't change much. I recently sold it and got about £3 back on a £40 purchase which stung a little, I even got it as part of a Humble Bundle on PC but only got 20 minutes in before uninstalling it.

I'd have to say probably Master of Orion 3 years ago to be honest - first two were amazing, so I bought the third one full of anticipation for about £45 at the time, and spent about an hour on it. I've gone back to it since and STILL don't like it - I acquired it once again on Steam a couple of weeks ago but that is only because it was part of a bundle with the first two and the brand new game too, so at about £18 it seemed a bargain even considering the drag factor of the third game being in there.
And yeah I will have some XBox 360 games and maybe a couple of XBox One games that I haven't even played yet, I know I have the Rugby World Cup 15 game on the One that I haven't played yet but I do intend to have a go on that one at some stage.

Oh boy, where do I start ... mLB 15 The Show, not because I hated the game, or the game was boring. I was really into the game to the point where I ended up spending roughly $100 on their in-game currency to make my character better, then quickly got bored of the game after that. Just Cause 3, it looked like a phenomenal game and I really like open-world games like that, so I bought the XL Edition which was $85. Turns out I don't like the game, and I lost $85 And as Assman said, Borderlands, another game I thought looked phenomenal so had to buy. Again, it was a mistake as I never really got into the game. GTA V Great White Shark Card, I bought the shark card yesterday, ended up buying a bunch of crap, and now I'm broke in game, and in real life > The Sims 4, another very recent purchase. And since I loved the Sims 3 I thought I would love the sims 4 so spent $70 on the deluxe edition. Let's just say I've only played roughly 20 minutes since I bought it last month .. To sum up, I spend a lot of money on things I eventually regret xD

Fallout 4.
Don't get me wrong, it's beautifully done. But there's just so much hype that went into it, that after I got it and played it, the game paled in comparison to its hype.

LA Noire is a good shout too, waited for ages to save up for that game, and it wasn't bad, just a bit.....meh. Might give it another play soon and see if I find it any more enjoyable this time around.
Surprised to see The Sims 4 mentioned too. I have been a massive fan of the whole series so far, and waited eagerly for the fourth to come out. The base game was admittedly a bit vanilla and I felt like I'd been almost ripped off, but the expansions and stuff packs to come out since have started to really flesh the game out and I love it now!

Yeah I'm with you guys on LA Noire, I actually bought that with my first paycheck at my current job and it left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth with how... meh it was.
The Sims 4 is one I've been thinking about buying since its release but have been put off by the mixed opinions, I'm pleased to hear the expansions flesh out the experience but at the same time in order to get that experience mucho moola needs to be parted with which I'm a bit against. That and I own a fair chunk of The Sims 3 DLC and have barely touched stuff like Island Paradise and World Adventures.
Fallout 4 I'm admittedly struggling with too, as you say Jackie it's not really living up to its hype. I'll soldier on with that one for the time being though.

Sims 4 falls into the same category that Civ does, where the current game is great and has several expansions for it and down the road a sequel is released, people buy it and have a dislike for it because it doesn't have those expansions which made the prior one great. See Civ 4 going onto Civ 5, then Civ 5 going onto Beyond Earth.

Buying Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I didn't know I had to pay monthly. Spent around 50€ to buy it. I'm sad every time I remember.

Ouch, I played a two week trial when the Gold Saucer was introduced, I enjoyed the game but not enough to pay monthly for it. Made that mistake with Elder Scrolls Online for about three months, which is another game to add to the list. Waste of time and money, and it's effectively free to play now which makes it worse.

Is ESO not worth buying? Heard it's not much different than Skyrim so it's not worth buying if you have Skyrim.

Well ESO is f2p now, so no need to buy it.
I did get ESO and quite enjoyed it and didn't really understand some of the critiques on the combat, where it's your standard Elder Scrolls styled combat with just having several abilities.

It's f2p when it comes to monthly fee, but I still would have to buy it to play it.

Yeah it's like Guild Wars and such, you pay for the game itself but not to play online anymore.
The biggest problem for me when I played was it was absolutely dead, but that's probably different now there are no monthly fees. It's a beautiful game and there's nothing wrong with the combat but exploring a huge city with three other players in it was a bit crap.
