Just curious, but how much do new releases cost in your area?
New releases in my area (Australia) are around $80-$100
Yep I know it's a lot. I asked my mum to get WWE '13 today, she called me from work and said at the EB Games where she works it was $98. I saw the same game in a different EB for $89, then in a JB Hi-Fi for $78. Needless to say I'm waiting until next week to get it (my mum has days off on monday)
I ask as I'm curious how prices are in different areas.

If it's a big title such as Assassin's Creed 3, they are usually $59.99 here. If it's a collection of older games, then they usually sell it from anywhere between $19.99 and $29.99.

New games here are roughly £40 depending on where you buy from, which works out at about $63 US or $62 AUD.
Most people are well aware how badly you get shafted in Australia when it comes to the price of video games, and also how in recent years your government has developed a ridiculous censorship policy. For example the latest Mortal Kombat game has never been released, neither has Manhunt or its sequel. In fact games like Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 3 onwards and House of The Dead Overkill were all banned originally, but most have been heavily edited to get a MA15 rating. It's ridiculous though, It's only a matter of time before you guys are banned from the damn Internet due to porn and 'shock' videos.
It used to be terrible in the UK too, back in the days of the SNES/Mega Drive (or Genesis) it wasn't uncommon to pay £70 for new games, which in today's money is about £110 - or $170 AUD. Those were bad times to be a gamer, so I completely empathise with you when it comes to how bad you guys have it over there.

Usually all new releases here cost about $50. But if it's a huge name like call of duty or Halo they'll up the price to $60

About the video game policy, I think in early next year, they're releasing an R rating for video games. House of the Dead Overkill was probably one of my favourite games for the Wii. Funnily enough even though Postal has been banned here (among other places), it's still purchasable no steam, which I've done. Hue
