I don't believe in that sort of thing, but I did see something odd walking home from work a few months ago. Here's a diagram of part of my route: The black dot on the road is me, I was crossing over the road, walking from left to right, when I saw a woman, the other black dot on the pavement/sidewalk walking towards the top of the picture so she had her back to me. She was a blonde lady with very long hair, walking very, very slowly up the path. What was odd was that she was wearing a dress with a floral pattern... and a cycle helmet. No bicycle or anything to explain why she was wearing a dress and a helmet, which is why the entire scenario was really strange to me. It was late-ish at night, about 9:15, but she could have been the resident nutcase, drunk or perhaps there was a perfectly logical reason as to why she was doing what she was doing, but man did it spook me at the time. I still look out for her every day, in the hope that I'll see her watering the garden or getting into a car. So, have you guys ever seen what you think might have been a ghost?

Once while I was looking after a pub in Sunderland I came downstairs one morning to find the place empty. Now, this pub was right on a main road so there was loads of traffic outside, but the place itself was empty and was a spooky place anyway. I didn't see anything, but I heard a really low, guttural groan - it scared seven shades of s**t out of me. I still to this day don't know what it was.
I've never seen one, but I've had experiences which make me believe stuff like that must exist.
Another brief story for you along these lines, shortly after my grandad died I had a dream I was talking to him on the phone. In the dream I knew he had died, yet talking to him on the phone felt perfectly normal at the time - I was at total ease with it. Anyway, at the end of the conversation he said "I have to let you go now - your mum needs you." Then he hung up.
I woke up straight away to hear my phone ringing, and sure enough it was my mum, she was having a diabetic hypo and had just had a nasty fall, so I was needed down there to help her straight away.
I know stories like that sound like utter rubbish to anyone who hasn't had a similar experience, but when you've had one it really makes that stuff difficult NOT to believe in.
