So I'm an Arsenal fan but won't say he was an ingrate for leaving, he is 29 and does deserve some silverware but Manchester United is just wrong; going to a rival club is disgusting but I do understand him.
The issue is do you think he will have a good season?
Will he be well received by the club players?
Do you think it was wise to spend 24 million pounds on him?

I think the only thing you can do worse than Arsenal to Man Utd is Liverpool to Man Utd (I'd say Leeds *cough* Alan Smith *cough* Rio Ferdinand). From his point of view he will win a major trophy with Man Utd, something he wouldn't do for Arsenal in his career. And Man Utd players will take him well as will their fans, they'll just think it's funny, guess it's a Southern sense of humour that we northerners don't know of, cockney bastards (Man Utd I'm talking about).

Honestly the deal makes sense from a financial perspective - Arsenal have just received £24 million for one of the most injury-prone players in the league, on the back of his only truly excellent Premiership season in the 7 or 8 he's been in England. Emile Heskey has scored more league goals in his career than van Persie, and to be blunt he probably only has three years left in him before he's forced to retire completely. One more major injury and he'll probably be done considering he's now 29.
On the other hand the guy does deserve some silverware for his efforts, most of the Arsenal team do which is why they have such a high player turnover rate. I think it's a good deal for everyone, but I do feel sorry for Berbatov and Hernandez who won't get a whole lot of game time now. I'll be surprised if Berbatov doesn't walk, he deserves better.

I'd hold out for more. If people are willing to pay what they did for Carroll then £29 Million for RVP is a steal. Also; Everton to Liverpool, Sunderland to Newcastle, Man. City to Man Utd. are all worse imo

You're forgetting Spurs to Arsenal too. Remember Sol Campbell?
