OK, I'm posting this as a follow up from my "A Few Games I'm Trying Out" post, basically to talk about Spore.
Assy has always told me it's not worth the time. It's not often I disagree with ya, but this is a resounding "WRONGGGGG" in my opinion lol
The cell stages are pretty poor granted, but I really enjoy the tribal stage onwards. The space stage is absolutely epic, though my game does tend to crash at the most inopportune moments. For example, I've spent most of the afternoon terraforming one of my colonies to T3 and designing the three cities on there to maximum efficiency - the planet now can store 30 yellow spice, and fills in about 3 minutes - awesome. There is also a solar system pretty much right next door that pays about $10,000 per unit of yellow spice - fantastic. Fill my stores up to 99 yellow spice in about 10 mins, and flog it for about a million bucks - laughing.
Anyway, getting this colony to this level has taken all afternoon, and the game crashed. Now, I can't be arsed to go back in and do all that all over again - so I'm off to the pub. Should teach me a lesson about saving regularly really, but meh - I didn't.
Anyone else actually like this game, or is it just me?

Fair enough, haha. Saying that I'm glad you liked it, makes it worth the purchase. I might give it another go down the line as I wrote it off pretty early last time, but yeah the stage your on was pretty enjoyable. From what I remember I was really getting into it and then suddenly moved on to the next stage, that was disappointing. Shame about your save though, lesson learned. Happened to me with Shogun 2 a few weeks back and I've not played it since.
