Liverpool rejected the bid from Newcastle, thank goodness. His attitude is poor, he will only work well when he's the focal point and is given all the long balls like when we first came back into the Premier League.

Here I am, Liverpool FC Fan. What I hear from Liverpool so far:
Newcastle approach Liverpool for a loan move for Carroll, with AC Milan and West Ham both rumoured to want the same. I'm pretty sure Carroll wants to stay but Brendan Rodgers seems keen on getting rid of him because there will be a lot of passing football which renders AC useless.
I'm hearing from America that Liverpool have agreed a deal with Fulham for Clint Dempsey for around 9 million. Also Gaston Ramirez will join up for 16m after the Olympics providing Napoli don't change his mind. And obviously Fabio Borini has already signed from Roma.

Great stuff, I'm surprised to see Liverpool throwing so much money around after the disastrous signings Kenny Dalglish made, but these players seem to actually have the ability that matches their transfer fees. Right, onto today's news: Reports in Italy suggest Tottenham could turn their attention to Inter Milan's Julio Cesar as an alternative to Lyon's Hugo Lloris. I think Spurs need to get their head out of the clouds a bit with these goalkeeper targets, besides they've still got Heurelho Gomes who just as he started putting in a string of great performances got replaced by an aging Brad Friedel. If anything he deserves another chance and Spurs should look to buy a backup to him if anything, not sure what Villa-Boas is thinking there. More on the Theo Walcott story, apparently Liverpool are desperate to sign him and are preparing a £15 million bid. He's in his last year of his Arsenal contract. Striker Dimitar Berbatov looks certain to leave Manchester United this summer, but the Bulgarian has admitted he is becoming frustrated as his long-term future is still to be resolved and he is unsure as to what transfer fee the Red Devils are looking to recoup. Fair point, if you attribute his age plus his appearances recently he's not worth anything close to the £30 million United paid for him, but at the same time they'll probably price him out of a move to most clubs.

As an interesting aside, Fabio Capello is as good as signed by the Russian FA to coach Russia from now on. Christ knows what that must be like... :L

It's the next best thing to managing the Qatar national team, he'll earn a ridiculous amount of money. For a country that has essentially been on it's knees since panicking during the Cold War they're doing quite well with throwing silly amounts of money at people associated with football. Just look at Samuel Eto'o, highest paid player in the world with €20 million a year after tax. By comparison Ronaldo earns €12 million and Messi a little over €10, and to be honest I see Capello earning similar money. And there was he saying he'd retire when he was done with England, I guess the lure of money was too great for him.
In other news, Sunderland have emerged as front-runners in the chase for Blackburn midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, but there isn't much else to report that isn't lower league stuff. It does seem like the Oscar deal from Internacional to Chelsea for £25 million is official though, although there are conflicting reports from different sources.

In other news, Sunderland have emerged as front-runners in the chase for Blackburn midfielder Steven N'Zonzi. Hmm.....not a bad signing, but I'd have thought we might go for the likes of Rodallega or Victor Moses To be fair N'Zonzi really isn't that bad a player though, and could help give us a bit more steel in the middle of the park. Liverpool rejected the bid from Newcastle, thank goodness. His attitude is poor, he will only work well when he's the focal point and is given all the long balls like when we first came back into the Premier League. Typical Geordie, can't see the forest for the trees You lot loved him when he was there before and wanted him for years to come, now he's had a nightmare spell elsewhere and you don't want to know. Imagine the Toon having striking options that include AC, Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse - believe me, coming from a Sunderland fan even I have to admit, that's pretty terrifying. In my opinion, his style of play suits that of Newcastle much better than it does Liverpool, and I think if you lot could get him back it would be a real coup, and a fantastic deal - especially considering you could get him back for a snip of what you sold him for. Look on the bright side The only story I can perhaps add to a little is that Sky Sports is reporting that Chelsea have agreed in principal a deal for Oscar, thought to be worth around the £25m mark. He's arriving in the UK on Tuesday with the Brazilian Olympic team, and could use the opportunity to tie up his move to Stamford Bridge. His agent had previously stated that the deal looked "increasingly uncertain".

Yeah, a mate of mine who supports Liverpool said that, be a fantastic signing if it turns out to happen tho! And £9m for a player of Dempsey's quality, in this day and age, is an absolute snip!

OK, perhaps I can take the reigns up for this for today (pardon the double post, but it's a new news day)
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has slammed reports that link Adrian Lopez with a transfer to North London, with both Arsenal and Spurs rumoured to be chasing the player's signature. Cerezo claims that no approaches whatsoever have been received by the Spanish club for the player.
Premier League champions Man City are believed to be leading the pack in the hunt for the services of highly rated youngster Foday Nabay, who was at Birmingham. A decision on the player's future is expected to be made within the next 48 hours. Nabay made headlines by remarkably being called up by England U-16's last summer.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Chelsea are looking to bring in 19-year-old winger Thorgan Hazard from French outfit Lens. Thorgan is the one of three younger brothers of Blues' new signing - and Belgian international - Eden, and the deal is expected to be announced within the next 48 hours.
And finally, sought after midfielder Rasmus Elm will make a future on his decision soon. His club, AZ Alkmaar, have confirmed they are anticipating an imminent decision from the 24-year-old midfielder amid interest from Manchester United and Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.

Certainly, I had a 12-8 shift yesterday so I didn't have the chance to get on here.
Apart from Elm and Lopez I've not heard of the players mentioned, good to see some young talent generating interest.
Not much to report this morning, but Alex Ferguson is in the market for a new left-back. Presumably this will be as backup to Patrice Evra, so I'm expecting either a young talent to eventually replace him or simply a backup player.
The Daily Mail claims that Spartak Moscow are ready to make a bid for Everton's John Heitinga. I'm inclined to ignore anything the Daily Mail says, but we'll see on that one.
Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is another target for Tottenham after his successful loan spell last term, but The Sun claim the striker is threatening to see out the remaining two years of his Manchester City contract. I think he's an idiot if he does this, he's a good player but clearly only in it for the money if he goes down this route.
Reports in the Daily Mirror claim that Wigan supremo Dave Whelan is ready to sell Victor Moses to Chelsea - if Roman Abramovich comes up with a £10million package. I've read elsewhere that Wigan have already turned down two bids, the latest believed to be in the region of £5 million. Moses is a good player but £10 million is laughable to be honest, I'll be very surprised if Chelsea offer that. Seems to me like they want him to make up the quota of English players needed for the Premier League and in Europe.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has told Sky Sports News there is 'no way' he will allow Andy Carroll to leave on loan, but accepted that the Reds will consider any offers they receive for the £35million England international. At work yesterday I read in The Sun that Newcastle have allegedly offered £16 million but Liverpool won't accept anything less than £20 million.

Liverpool news:
Liverpool are preparing a bid for Joe Allen of Swansea, the amount isn't confirmed at the moment. However the rule states that for Rodgers to be allowed to purchase a player from his former club another club must bid for that player, which means Allen must have interest from elsewhere also.

Manchester United have had a bid rejected from Arsenal for Robin Van Persie. Could you imagine RVP and Rooney on form at the same time? It would be devestating.
On the Moses front, why shouldn't Wigan ask for £10 million. Prices have inflated since the days where you could get a player like him for £5 million. I agree £10 million is steep BUT you have to consider the following: He's still young and his physical presence gives him huge upside; the price is meant to deter buyers, Wigan don't want to lose him but, if they're going to then they may as well get a good deal out of it.
Real Madrid have said that they'll pay £27 million for Modric despite the fact Spurs had said they wouldn't let him go for anything less than £35 million. Quite frankly I'd rather have 3 and a half Victor Moses'
Also, on a minor note, at least for the time being, Chelsea are on the verge of signing one of Eden Hazard's brothers.

Been a couple of days since the last update, here's what's going on:
Portsmouth are desperate to sell defender Tal Ben Haim with the player's £36,000-a-week salary threatening to send the club into liquidation. Nice to know the player is still demanding ridiculous amounts of money for a club in financial crisis, a better man would simply walk away without any compensation but this is football we're talking about I suppose. Wouldn't happen in the real world anyway.
According to reports in The People, Barcelona striker Gerard Deulofeu is a target for two Premier League clubs. Liverpool reportedly want to sign the Spain Under 19 international permanently, with a fee of £7.5million mooted, while Queens Park Rangers are considering a loan deal. New manager, same ridiculous amounts of money being offered. It wasn't that long ago that £7.5 million would get you close to a world class player, these days it's necessary for a B-team player.
