www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/clockwatch?dcmp_facebook_transferclockwatchLet's keep this bad boy going until the transfer window closes at the end of August. So far it seems Marouane Chamakh might be on his way to Serie A outfit Fiorentina from Arsenal. The Moroccan hasn't particularly featured for his club recently, and no doubt Arsene Wengler will want to use the money made from his sale towards a big name to replace Robin van Persie who is set to leave on a free transfer once his contract expires. Birmingham City have announced that Peter Lovenkrands is to join the club as a free agent following his release by Newcastle United. Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio could be on his way to Tottenham, but this is little more than newspaper rumours at the moment. Spanish media are convinced Luka Modric is on his way to Real Madrid with reports claiming Jose Mourinho wants deal done by July 15 when the club return for pre-season training. The Sun reports on Monday morning that AC Milan are still keen on landing Liverpool striker Andy Carroll. They are said to have discussed the England international with the Reds while holding talks over Alberto Aquilani. Not sure if I believe this one...

Birmingham City have announced that Peter Lovenkrands is to join the club as a free agent following his release by Newcastle United. lols. Lovenkrands is a decent player, surprised the Mags let him go to be honest, but age isn't really on his side. Good signing for the Brum. The Sun reports on Monday morning that AC Milan are still keen on landing Liverpool striker Andy Carroll. bahahaha, don't get me wrong I actually quite like Andy Carroll but if he succeeds in Italy and gets himself a good reputation in a country where the likes of Ian Rush, David Platt and, to a slightly lesser extent, Paul Ince failed I will eat my hat :-P In any case, Sky Sports have updated the story, with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers claiming that reports linking Andy Carroll with AC Milan are wide of the mark, with the Italian outfit having made no contact. He has, however, also hinted that he is prepared to offer clean slates to Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani. Not sure whether "offer clean slates" means a get-out-of-my-Liverpool-nightmare-and-let-me-move-away slate or another chance at proving themselves at Anfield, though I'd be inclined to lean towards the latter. Also announced moments ago is the surprising news that Manchester United midfielder [[Park Ji Sung]] has moved to QPR on a two year deal.

I'm guessing by 'clean slates' he's going to ignore the fact that Carroll has sucked since moving to Liverpool and Aquilani is happy to turn out for 40 games at Milan compared to about 15 for his parent club and as you say give them another opportunity to prove their worth. Good for him, they're both good players and Rogers stands to lose a combined £50 million-ish if neither play for him. I wonder how much of that decision was influenced by the owners? I am honestly stunned by Park Ji Sung moving, I can only assume he wants regular football. Saying that he'd be a star for most Premiership sides and has proven time and again how good he is by nearly always starting in massively crucial games. He was instrumental in tearing Arsenal a new one in the 8-1 win last season I recall, but even so that is a massive, massive coup for QPR. Right, todays news and rumours - according to the papers Chelsea have signed a Brazilian 'wonderkid' by the name of Oscar, I honestly know zip about him so I can't say much more on that. Is he any good? Also Robin van Persie seems bound for Manchester City which comes as no real surprise, City have deemed Emmanuel Adebayor surplus to requirements and he seems set for Tottenham on a permanent basis. Poor old Alan Smith hasn't had much luck in recent seasons, he looks set to join MK Dons permanently from Newcastle. Going back to the Andy Carroll story, it seems Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers might send him out on loan to AC Milan. That would be interesting because as you mentioned Mac British players generally don't do too well in Italian football. Real Madrid seem to have lost patience with Kaka, who has now said he's desperate to go back to AC Milan and recapture his form that made the club sell him for £60-odd million. Apparently due to Real being interested in Luka Modric they could organise a swap deal.

He was instrumental in tearing Arsenal a new one in the 8-1 win last season I recall, but even so that is a massive, massive coup for QPR.[/qyote] Park Ji-Sung is an excellent capture for QPR , he's a very talented player. I reckon United got rid of him 'cause, despite him being an excellent player for QPR, he's not more than a good sub in United, and since Man already signed Kagawa, they have a first team player which will still drive the Asians nuts and he's pretty young. it's a terrific move by Man Utd, plays well for QPR too, Kagawa gets the promotion he deserved and Park gets to play regular first team. Everybody wins. Right, todays news and rumours - according to the papers Chelsea have signed a Brazilian 'wonderkid' by the name of Oscar, I honestly know zip about him so I can't say much more on that. Is he any good? Oscar is awesome. very talented player of Internacional. Guy is for Leandro Damiao what Ganso is for Neymar. Probably even better than Ganso if given the opportunity. Poor old Alan Smith hasn't had much luck in recent seasons, he looks set to join MK Dons permanently from Newcastle. To think that guy played in Man Utd . seriously, how could he go so low? Barcelona signed Jordi Alba, which is a pretty good capture. He's gaining his spot in Spain's national team, they cripple Valencia, win a player Real Madrid also had an eye on and he's a 'son' of the club, much like Piqué and Fabregas, so he'll definitely fit in. Arsenal should low Persie's price to around 20-25 millions, if you ask me. Either that or they'll lose him for free. No time for getting picky. I think City should get Persie before someone else does and sell both Adebayor and Tevez. I mean, I really like Tevez but i dont see him playing in Man City anymore. Aguero and Balotelli have an almost-guarenteed spot, with Dzeko waiting for Balotelli to slip. I dont know if Guidetti is still there, but if he is, then they should keep him abd get rid of Tevez, which, in my opinion, would be a great addition to a club like Tottenham or even Chelsea, to replace Anelka/Drogba, who left a gap. Hulk is simply not good enough, in my opinion .

Swansea have got Jonathan de Guzman on loan from Villarreal. There are a few decent signings to be had from Villarreal, considering the turmoil they are in.

Tevez's only saving grace is that he's capable of playing in behind the strikers, so City might keep him for that reason and he seems to be much more of a team player since coming back from his strop. Reminds me of when Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez were almost unstoppable at Manchester United a few seasons back because Tevez played behind them both and helped Ronaldo bang in 40-odd goals. I think Rooney got close to 30 himself.
Good to see Swansea still punching above their weight when it comes to signings, Michel Vorm is obviously top quality and Sigurdson on loan last season proved to be an awesome signing. Shame about Villarreal, as far as I know the same is still happening with Valencia - all their top talent is being poached for next to nothing, Juan Mata is proof of that.
In todays news - Andy Carroll is still in the spotlight, this time West Ham apparently want him on loan. I think this would be a better move than to Italy for reasons we've discussed, but if Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers has offered him a clean slate I can't see him going anywhere mainly due to his price tag. If he'd come in for £10 million I think they'd let him go on loan, but because the club paid so much they'll want a return on the investment.
Newcastle United and Sunderland have both been linked with a move for Vurnon Anita and the Ajax midfielder has said he would 'seriously consider' interest from the Premier League. However, Anita admits the Dutch champions do not want to let him go.
Reports in a couple of papers this morning claim Fulham have won the race to sign Hugo Rodallega on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic. The striker has also been linked with a move to Everton. Good player but doesn't score enough for me, but then again I don't think even Messi could get that team regularly winning games by more than one goal.
The Sun has linked Newcastle's French midfielder Yohan Cabaye with a move to Barcelona who are also looking at Cabaye's international teammate Yann M'Vila. It would be a shame if he did go because while he's a fantasit player for the Toon I can't see him starting ahead of guys like Xavi and Fabregas and Barcelona. He's better off staying put if he wants to stay in the national team as well.
A quick line from the morning papers and the Daily Mail says Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. He's one of the best goalkeepers in the world, I think if he were t move his club would want similar money to what Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon.

Assy - If you ever get bored of working at Sainsbury's, Sky Sports News probably have a job lined up for you!
Luka Modric appears to be on his way out of Tottenham, which is a disastrous start for Andre Villas-Boas. Also, Adel Taarabt has signed a new contract with QPR.
Slow news day, today.
*EDIT* Reports in Italy are suggesting that PSG are lining up a €65 million offer to AC Milan for Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva

Haha, cheers guys. Wish I could do something serious like this, if you ever get anything going with the degree Mac I'll happily help out with some behind-the-scenes writing. Just how much money do PSG have? Seems to be bottomless if they can throw that much money around. Looks like they're trying to be the Manchester city of French football, good luck to them. Glad to hear Taarabt is staying at QPR, he didn't have the influence on the team last season as he did the one before in the Championship but obviously the Premiership is a class above what he was used to at the time but towards the end of the season he managed to get into his 'groove' as it were. I can't see why he'd want to move in all honesty, he's a good player but still largely unproven at that level so I don't think he'd generate a whole lot of interest unless he can put together a couple of consistent Premiership seasons. Oh yeah, the reason he's staying is apparently because he's pleased with Mark Hughes' ambition with recent signings. In todays news, Tottenham have confirmed that Jan Vertonghen has completed his transfer to White Hart Lane from Ajax after passing a medical with the North London club. The name is vaguely familiar, but I don't particularly follow Dutch football so I haven't a Scooby if he's any good. Ibrahimovic has popped up again, this time being linked to Manchester City. I can't see why they'd want him as the current strike force is exceptional and Ibra has an annoying habit of not turning up for big games, but he could be useful for dismantling the smaller clubs while the likes of Aguero and Balotelli are rested. Then again he'd command a transfer fee of £30+ million despite being 30, even that's quite pricey for City considering he'll probably spend most of his time keeping the bench warm. Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has been on Twitter to state: "I see the Twitter rumour mill is at it again! As I've previously said, my next club will either be abroad or in The Premier League." Bets on this gents? West Ham is my bet if he stays in the Premiership. Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is planning to lure Crystal Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Nathaniel Clyne to St Mary's in an £8million double swoop and is also keen on Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton, according to the Daily Star. Naughton seems quite popular wiht the Spurs hierarchy, but obviously new manager Andre Villas Boas might not feel the same way about him as Harry Redknapp did. A loan move would be my guess. As for the other two players, I've heard Wilfred Zaha is very highly rated in the footballing world, but £8 million seems like a lot of money for two Championship players without any disrespect meant. Usually when large transfers are made for Championship players they end up rotting in the reserves, Aston Villa's Fabien Delph comes to mind. Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially gone batshit mad since their relegation, they've turned down a £4 million offer for star winger Matt Jarvis from West Ham. They say he's worth... wait for it... £11 million! Don't get me wrong he's a good player, but the club have to realise that yes, they're going to lose their best players but they have to think realistically about their value - it's been at least halved since relegation. £4 million is perhaps a bit insulting, but really the guy is worth no more than 5 or 6. Fulham are the latest club to be linked with Liverpool striker Andy Carroll, amid reports that the Cottagers could use the Reds' interest in USA international Clint Dempsey to help them land the England striker on loan, according to the Daily Mirror. If I've understood that correctly they're going to sell Dempsey (at a cut-price I'd imagine) to get Carroll on loan, which seems silly in the long term. Dempsey is by far Fulham's best player and I can't see Carroll happy about going to the club and therefore not putting in his best performances. And at the end of it all Fulham will be without either player, so that's a strange one.

Jordi Alba has been my favorite acquisition so far wish Javi Martinez could follow tho. PSG has always been a spender, they did try buying/signing an old Beckham from the Galaxy not to long ago for a hefty price too. 75 million for Silva and Ibra seems like a lot, especially since Ibra can't seem to stay in one place for too long. Keita's out of Barca I think. Not surprising seeing as they have players coming out their butts ahead of him.

Good point with PSG, I remember they wanted Ronaldo Gaucho (or Ronaldinho, whatever he's known as these days) back when he was world player of the year. It's a bit late in the day to be arsed typing up a huge essay, so I'll keep this post short. Gulha mentioned John Guidetti a few posts back, apparently he wants a move away from Manchester City. Lazio is his preferred choice. Maxi Rodriguez has left Liverpool and gone back to his native Argentina with Newell's Old Boys. Seems fair enough for a player approaching his twilight days as a player, that sort of thing is becoming much more common in recent years. Turkish giants Galatasaray have confirmed an agreement to sign midfielder Hamit Altintop from Real Madrid on a four-year deal. I didn't realise the guy was still playing for Real. Everton and Tottenham have opened talks over Steven Pienaar, Sky Sports have confirmed. Makes sense really as being honest he's not good enough for Spurs, but David Moyes always knows how to get the best out of him. Todays Andy Carroll news sees him now linked with former club Newcastle. Apparently Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers is now keen to sell him at a fraction of his £35 million cost. Joey Barton could be set to leave QPR with the Daily Mail saying both Blackburn and Nottingham Forest are keen. He could walk under a train for all I care.

According to Sky Sports Newcastle have offered to take Andy Carroll on loan with a view to a permanent move, I really hope that deal goes ahead, I really, really rate Carroll and he is wasted at Liverpool. He needs to go to a club with a more direct approach and we all know Brendan Rodgers likes to keep the ball on the ground. You only have to look at the header he scored from England and to see what he did in his first half of the season with Newcastle last year to see this boy is a talent, it would be good news for England too.

Funny about Alan Smith, playing in a Champions League Semi Final for his hometown team Leeds in 2001, sells us out when we needed him most and went to our bitter rivals and now he's playing in the division below us. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Don't even care if he went to my school -.-

I wonder how much Liverpool would want to sell him for if this happens, obviously nowhere near what they paid for him. Trouble is if he performs badly on loan Newcastle probably won't want him, but if he performs well and bangs in 20 goals Liverpool will want to hang onto him. Speaking of Liverpool, Theo Walcott is a surprise transfer target for them. Bookies are taking even bets on him moving which means this is very much a possibility. Brazilian club Santos claim they have been offered Florent Malouda, but a deal for the Chelsea winger is in doubt due to his wage demands. Robin van Persie has dominated the newspapers since it emerged that he had turned down the offer of a new contract at Arsenal, and it has been claimed in the Daily Star Sunday that it is now a straight fight between Manchester United and Manchester City after he was spotted house-hunting in Cheshire. Didier Drogba has arrived in China to a rapturous reception after signing for Shanghai Shenhua. He has rejected suggestions that his move was motivated by money and insisted he is relishing the new challenge. Yeah, and I'm the bloody Emperor. One for Guilha here - Steve Kean flew to Lisbon on Friday night from Blackburn’s Austrian training camp in an effort to finalise the transfer of midfielder Adrien Silva from Sporting, according to the Lancashire Telegraph. How is he as a player, should be be playing at higher than at Championship level?

I have a jersey of Walcott and if he goes to Liverpool I'll be utterly disappointed. I wouldnt mind if he went to United or City (within England) but Liverpool (or Chelsea) would suck. Going from Arsenal to Liverpool isn't really climbing up a step, so it'd just show pure boredom of the club and that's disrespectful. I highly doubt he'll do it though. Santos don't need Malouda and surely Malouda wouldnt fit in there, tbh. Not saying he wouldnt play well there but he's a footballer that much more fits in European football. Persie should go to Man City IF City sell either Tevez or Dzeko, or else United should indeed be the way. How is he as a player, should be be playing at higher than at Championship level? If I'm completely honest (and I dont even care he belongs to one of Benfica's rivals), Adrien is currently one of the best portuguese center midfielders. He is still young so he wasnt called up to Euro 2012 because of that, most likely, but I would have called him up. I really admire him. If Blackburn capture him, they'll win a great player. 5M€ would be a fair price for him atm, but no doubt he will be worth 20M€ or more if well coached In other transfer news: - North American Michael Bradley (ex-Chievo) is moving to Rome, as AS Roma bought the player's rights for 3.75M€ - It seems PSG finally got their wish and Thiago Silva has signed for 5 years, with AC Milan receiving about 42M€. Let's see how the Ibrahimovic deal unrolls. - Man Utd is reportedly interested in Denmark youngster Christian Eriksen.
