One thing I've enjoyed about the two sole sites I've been on since this site closed was on regular, weekly shows, there was a word limit on some of the matches. I was curious as to whether that would be implemented here or not? I can't speak for everyone but I can speak for myself when I say it is a bit discouraging when, hypothetically speaking, I'm matched up against a guy like say Timmeh who is a phenomenal roleplayer and say (again, hypothetically speaking, this isn't a shot at Timmeh and I have no idea if this applies to him or not, just using him as an example) he has a lot of time through the week to work on his promo while I don't. Not trying to use that as an excuse but for a guy like me, when I've got to attend school, I won't have much time through the week while say maybe Timmeh won't have that hard of a workload (again, just an example, I have no idea haha). I think it'd really encourage more people to show up for the shows on a consistent basis. I talked to Storme on XAT before this board was up I believe and he said how he isn't sure how much time he'll have when he attends uni. I think by having a word limit, it'd help out someone like him so he can contribute to the shows.
Another thing is, how often do you see 30 minute matches on RAW? I think it is just flat out more logical to save the best for the actual pay-per-view (which obviously wouldn't have a word limit). Now when it comes to title matches on a weekly show, it is up to the discretion of the general manager whether a word limit or not should be applied - that is a completely difference case being as that is a title match compared to a regular match. I just believe in general it'd help me and others to help stay focused and willing to show for Massacre. On top of that, I'm kind of lazy, haha.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section but thought this was probably best for it. It's just a suggestion but I think it is something that should really be considered. Not exactly sure what the word limit would be. That is up to the general manager, moderators, or anybody else who has an idea.

Agreed. I don't wanna read an RP over 2.5k, let alone write one.

Wasn't there a word limit for some matches around the time DXX went down? But yeah it is a good idea

As it stands now if the C-4 title goes through matches in that division will have a 1500 word limit. I'm not sure if a word limit on the weekly shows will fly or not but we'll have to wait to see what the majority says.
btw I'm a quality over quantity guy, so if anyone is thinking they're going to impress me solely because their RP has (insert random number of characters here) is going to be sorely disappointed.
I'll gladly have a word limit on the weekly shows if the majority rules in favor of it.

I'm for it :-) will make it easier on the GM too so they don't have to sit here and read a novel

I'd be up for that too actually, perhaps give a +/- 10% leeway and perhaps remove word limits for ppvs as suggested to give them a more epic feel, or up it at least. Plus, what Justin said is something I agree with too. Definitely a good plan in my book, I'm all for it.

For weekly shows I recommend a 2000 word limit for matches and then a 3000 word limit for the main event as even if someone is extremely busy they can still manage something near to 2000 words of a decent quality.

i'm a guy who very rarely makes an RP over 2k words but if i'm completely honest I dont think there should be any limits. I mean, I signed my contract considering how much patience and time i have/will have, so I should be up for facing whoever comes along. That's like a mid-table team (of any sports) saying "no, I'll only play against the top teams if they lower their level" .
That's just me though. If there's a word limit it would make my life easier as well, I dont like facing people who write big RPs, but i think they should be allowed to ; one does what one can.
but yeah, do whatever, i'll be happy either way, it's not like it'll affect the length of my RPs, i would only barely go over 2k sometimes

I'm not saying that I don't want to go against anybody who comes along. However, I think all-out roleplays (just like big matches in the WWE) should be saved for pay-per-views and I think it'd be best for the entire forum if there was a word limit on the weekly shows. Just my opinion but a lot of us have gotten older, a lot of us will be especially busy after Summer. I think it'd just help lessen the impact if guys knew they weren't going up against someone weekly who, say, could toss out a quality 8000 word roleplay every week (no doubt, quality > quantity, but length does help with getting the scene and whatnot portrayed well) while you were too busy to maybe not be able to match that.
Like I said, it is up to the admins and mods, specifically the general manager. I just think it'd be for the best in the long run, personally. It'd also, in my opinion, help reinforce to people to focus more on quality rather than filling up their roleplay with meaningless junk.

I'm up for word-limit Honestly I am one who loves to be up to date on every character, and when they put up this huge wall of words for me to read I try but fall by the way side most times. I feel we should know what's going on in superstars storylines and if your story is not being appreciated then what's the use?
Word limit for regular shows and take it off for the pay-per view works nicely

I don't rate most of the RPs on the old DXX - including my own. No matter what anyone claims, writing longer RPs increased your chances of winning. When I started upping my word count, I went from lost in the shuffle to holding three championships at once.
I don't think Ayen is that kind of GM, but a limit would ensure people don't produce drawn-out RPs.

It makes things fairer and makes people write more interesting RPs. I used to be dead set against word limits as I thought it'd limit creativity, but it rather concentrates the creativity and promotes it. I'm up for 3k word limits

My average RP length on old DXX in my prime was honestly about 12 thousand words (on average) and if I'm honest with you about half of it must have been complete and utter drivel because I made it up on the spot with no planning and I bored myself writing it, I did it because I found the longer my RPs the more I won.
So honestly if anyone can write more than 10k words and it all be absolute quality hats off to you, but I'm up for a word limit, for me I'd place it at between 3 and 5 thousand words. Give a fair leeway and don't accept anything that takes the piss.
It's just about finding out what people's perceptions of enough length is, 4k to me, 2k to others. I'm up for that though.

I'm up for the whole 2k to 3k thing to see how it comes around. Though I could even go further to say 4k would be good for those who could possibly handle it.
