... and got totally destroyed?
Here's my situation, started a game as Fulham, had a great season finishing 7th. Started the next season with more or less the same team... and it took me six games to pick up any points. It's quite annoying, has this happened to anyone else?

I remember managing Eastleigh once and got promoted easily on a budget of about 50p, and cleaned up the awards too.
Then, the next season in the Conference National I got relegated with approximately 2 points. Nightmare season.
If promotions don't count and we are talking same-league level, then yeah quite regularly. I will usually make my first mistake on the first day of work by signing shedloads of players I really don't need, and making the team disjointed. It seems to work for a while, but repeating this process the following season rarely does.

Yes. This usually happens with mid-low English teams. Aston Villa, Newcastle, Birmingham and Sunderland, mostly . I usually can make a good first season, but I usually start off very suckish on the 2nd one and usually cant seem to top the position i ended up last season, which sucks.

Lol, I use Birmingham and yeah the beginning of the second season almost had me crying but from then on its just mid season when the other teams are kind of familiar with your formation but with constant change in tactic I've kept going; in my 8th season now, won everything. Champions League, Premier League, hell I even have one World cup in the bag with Mexico ;D Their squad gets badass by 2017
