I know this is old news by now but I haven't had a wrestling discussion forum since 2011, so...
Anyone else shocked to see Rock actually win at the event? I mean, don't get me wrong, I've been a fan of Rock's since 1999. Back in the day my main faves were Austin, Rock, Taker, Kane and Mankind and I was happy and all, but I honestly thought Cena would go over.
Discuss.

I wasn't surprised to be honest, because I don't know if The Rock would have even agreed to the match if he had been booked to lose.

I think The Rock would have. The Rock is extremely nice in real life and was the only main star in the Attitude Era that, whether face or heel, still would routinely lose cleanly. At least in comparison to Steve Austin, who I think in the span of '98-'03 only lost two matches cleanly (WrestleMania 19, No Way Out '01).
I believe they gave Rocky the win so heading into the rematch (which I have a feeling will happen at SummerSlam with Cena as champion, which would mean he cashes in MITB the same night he won it, sadly) they can hype up how Cena somehow needs this despite him not giving a crap about his loss the last time. And because Miami would have rioted had Rock lost.

You don't think so? Rock never struck me as the type to care about all of that but ehh, I only know of him so...

I figured he'd win since it was in his hometown. The hometown heroes normally win, unless you're facing Shawn Michaels in the 90s.
Got a good laugh out of the World Heavyweight title match though. Second year in a row those two weren't allowed to have a proper match. First time it was made a dark match, this time it lasted, what, five seconds?
Maybe next year.

That Miami crowd would have eaten Cena alive had his hand been raised that night. Besides, Cena is at the point in his career where a loss doesn't mean much.

The Rock put guys like Hurricane over Didn't he also lose a battle royal to Booker T to push him into the main event? Cant remember as I was only like only 5 at the time. In all honesty I thought the Rock would lose though, didn't see it coming. Don't particularly want to see a Rock vs Cena rematch though, would much rather see Orton vs Rock or CM Punk vs Rock

Rock's a swass covered taint. I honestly believed he'd let Cena win.
...That awkward moment when you suddenly like Lesnar a little more than Rock.
Mania 28 was good, not great but good, I liked it though I'm liking the more recent PPVs more.

The Rock's ego has grown since being in hollywood we know that. DO you honestly think he would've put cena over as oppose to what he did back int he day before he got big in hollywood?

I didn't, actually. Haven't been following his Hollywood career day by day so I can't comment on his ego allegedly growing larger.

Well, me personally I don't think he would've put Cena over due to what I just said earlier.

Remember when Rock lost to Hogan because Hogan was selfish and didn't want to pass the torch? Remember when Rock showed respect to the business and the fans by passing said invisible imaginary but still relevant torch off to Cena, the new face of the WWE? Remember when that wannabe samoan cockswab came back and was there every night to entertain the fans and not just rubbing his ass on his webcam for a few extra slices of the WWE merchandise cake?
