Hi guys - I feel I should probably add a comment to this thread Can't believe it's been almost 10 years, longer if you include the "red" forum before DXX - I cannot for the life of me remember the name of (Ass, McMahon: Here's where you come in. ♥♥♥). The red forum was Wrestling Generation if I remember correctly, that's where Assman, Your Idol, Buzzy, myself, Wes, Gawd etc all met in the first place - but it wasn't a site run by either myself or Assy. That site, as great as it was, started appearing to have some writing on the wall so I told people originally about KC's Sports Central, but when that didn't take off I created "D-Generation XX", and people slowly migrated over to that one. That one was reported to Proboards for linking to downloads of wrestling shows, PPVs etc so I created DXX: The Rebirth, initially just as a fallback, but people seemed to flock to it, and it didn't seem too difficult getting new members in either. You know, now that I think of it I don't think any of the old stuff would be there as it was unfortunately deleted by a loser who cracked the site. I must've been gone then, because I don't remember that Yes, SOME idiot decided to crack the site and delete all the posts, wonder who that was? In any case, I logged in, saw stuff vanishing before my eyes and just decided I'd rather the site was taken down by my own hand and not the control of some tosspot who thought it'd be funny basically. So I removed it myself. But yeah, I'd have probably been more inclined to go to PBS and ask them to restore all removed content because someone had gotten access to my account, but as Assy mentioned, the arguing and stuff by then had just gotten out of hand and literally was causing sleepless nights and a complete removal of my spare time, so I thought perhaps the place had seen it's time. Until I later regretted doing that and wished I could have it back, which was when the idea of DXX:FTA came to be. Happy days when the place was going well though weren't they?

I still maintain that 2007 was the best year. Less fighting, everyone got along, the GMs were on good terms, and I was just as excited checking the RAW results as I was for SmackDown (the brand I was on for those who don't know).
I'ma share a funny story about my time as Mayhem GM. Okay, Cube has just won the Undisputed Universe (what a stupid name) Title from DJ Hipp at Eye for an Eye, and he wanted to job to every damn person on the roster as Champion. And I let him because... I unno. I got into Josh Impact's stash by this point in time.
I told Hipp he didn't have to worry about RPing too hard because Cube wanted to job. Then he goes and tells everybody! Meanwhile, I forgot I even told him that! Randy comes to me and tells me what happened so in a classic Vince McMahon moment, I change the f**king Main Event to a Fatal 4 Way killing all the weeks of buildup just to punish one guy.
And then he reminds me what I said to him and I was like, "Oh... **********"

Cube's the only bloke from DXX that I still talked to. He's great.

Politics got in the way of fun towards the end, when I was GM I made it clear that sometimes certain events would happen to further the storylines - it made no sense for the Hipp Tribe/Squad/Douche Brigade to run rampant over everyone every week, but without naming names certain guys got a bit annoyed if they lost a match or weren't dominating every given situation, nothing made sense if the buildup wasn't there. Like Ayen's example it led to arguing, accusations of favoritism and yeah at one point loss of sleep, it was at that stage where it stopped being fun for most of us.
*edit*
I will say Hipp himself and the general higher members like Chad etc were generally ok, it was others further down who could be a pain.

Dear God. DXX turned into WCW.
You should have gone all the way with it and just book all their matches with dusty finishes just to troll their asses.
Cube was one of the few men in DXX who would lose and not give two shits. He's a classy guy. I still talk to him on Skype regularly.

If you're gonna do wrestling roleplay, I think you should just go cheesy with it.
It's a shame that by the end there was loads of shitflinging between folks, something I was guilty of with Affy. *Shrugs* What can ya do?

Guys, let's not focus too much on the rough times near the end there, ultimately DXX: The Rebirth had several really great years where it was real fun and we got to make some true friends out of it. For that, I'm so proud of that place. I actually asked PBS earlier today if it would be possible to get it restored, even temporarily, to try and pull a load of the creative work back from it but apparently not - The Rebirth has been lost in history now. One thing I do remember though which still makes me laugh, is when I was doing the Bulla gimmick in its second spell (McMahon had a mental break and reverted to that character) and I'd done a mahoosive RP, something like 3000 words, for a match against DJ Hipp. He hadn't RP'd so I fully expected to win, then he posted at the last minute something like (pretty much word for word): Hipp walks into the room and says lolwut That was it. And he won. I was stotting haha the only time I ever complained about losing a match as I was always happy to do the job if it helped a storyline - it was just a bit of fun at the end of the day

I think that just comes with looking back at something, while you may not see it at the time, looking you realize the negatives, despite that, I enjoyed my time at the Rebirth, was always curious on what "the Rebirth" meant. The bigger mystery is what DXX means.

Haha not this again! Basically, DXX was named so primarily because DX were so big in WWE at the time having just reformed, making Vince McMahon's life hell. It just had a ring to it despite being a very obvious rip-off. The Rebirth was so named because it was the second DXX site - a sort of "you took us offline but we are back" kind of thing - that was the significance of that anyway. Plus, put together, DXX: The Rebirth just sounded pretty good too. Other sites I've done I've spent days trying to coming up with a name - in the case of DXX and DXX: The Rebirth, I just saw the "Forum Name" field and went with the first thing that popped into my head. Pretty ironic really

I was undefeated on SmackDown back when Randy GMed for the longest time. He used to love having Carari be attacked just to make AoD go on a rage and no sell every type of move the other guy could throw at him and then have him win that way. Good times. I was at the edge of my seat reading through the Triple Threat title match with Edge and Josh Impact because I didn't expect to win.
Then I loss to two Crusierweights and my muse as well as my heat died, lol!

I remember tag teaming near the end with Shelby a lot. We sat on msn for most of the nights working on our rp's for our matches and just talking all the time along with Cody and Justin quite a bit. Ah the memories. Shelby and I got into a fight which neither of us can remember why and we started talking again but then lost contact when msn went off and she doesn't go on youtube that often to check messages. Wish I can get a hold of her along with Hipp and a few others. Best part of rping near the end however was when I had to kill off Kenny, brought his brother into it to break the news and then quit. Also whatever happened to Rocco? I know he got banned back when the forum was going strong but I forget why. Anyone remember? Edit: And anyone remember when I forget his name but think he was Undertaker at one point (great guy) died of a poisoned hamburger or something like that?

Wonder if he really did die from choking on a poisoned burger or not though... guess we'll never know.
