Anyone been watching, or dare I say been there? What are your favourite events?
Despite living about 70 miles from London there's no chance I'm even going to attempt getting into the city (and tickets are so expensive!), but I've been watching loads of the Olympics on TV. My favourite events so far have been diving and archery, and I cant wait for the track and field events to start. Usain Bolt, 100 meters, 'nuff said.

Archery pissed me off. The guy's broken the works record and is registered blind and is still infinitely better than I am. , (I took up archery about a year and a half ago if anyone's wondering). Essentially - Y HE SO GOOD?!

That's awesome (not for you obviously, you know what I mean), I've only watched the womens team event and that was cool. The Chinese cocked up near the end and needed a perfect 10 on their final arrow to beat the Russians, but of course none of them had scored a 10 since the third or fourth shot. All of a sudden BAM, they get the 10, Lords goes nuts, it was compelling viewing.

I've watch a little swimming, I watch part of a cycling race, but cycling just bores the hell out of me so switched it off. Other than that, I haven't really had much time to watch anything else

The Men's final was like that (Saturday afternoon I think) The 3rd member of the Italiens had hit a couple 8's and the US got right back into it and his final arrow needed to be a 9 to tie it and BAM 10. Poor US. I've been watching bits and bobs of the Olympics, I'm only really interested in the final of the tennis, the football, the US Basketball team, Bolt/Blake and Phelps. How unpatriotic of me.

I'm the same I must admit, I'll watch a sport if it interests me rather than if someone from Great Britain is in there. It's an added bonus if they are I suppose, but like you I'm much more interested in watching the like of Phelps and Bolt destroying the competition. Cycling bored me too Trips, going back to Randy's comment I tried watching it to see how a chap called Mark Cavendish was supposedly going to win the thing comfortably. I got bored after about 15 minutes but as luck would have it tuned back in for the final few hundred yards... and Cavendish not only didn't win but finished 28th. Apparently the plan was for Team GB to ride a tactical race to get Cavendish to win it, but according to some they largely ignored it as they wanted the glory to themselves.

I've not been following him since the last Olympics, has he had a bad season or something? He was a machine in Beijing, what's gone wrong?

He just sucks this year, he's slow and isn't as good as he was in beijing, The commentators said that he's only been training for 8 months and everyone else has been training for years, so that may be the problem.

Phelps disappointed me a lot. Shouldn't have finished fourth and that silver should have been gold. Still, the most decorated Olympian ever isn't too bad of a thing lol they said he was slacking during the little training he had and Lochte's trash! Can't finish a race to save his life -_- lost the U.S. the relay!

^^Everybody on this side is very happy with the women's gymnastics team getting gold. Probably the most popular medal won by the U.S. so far.
