Portman cried, raised her voice a bit and then continued being nigh-on emotionless throughout the film - there was no major change in the character except for the haircut. The same goes with Thor, her character was horrible in that and the romance went from nothing into booming within seconds if you take it through the acting (admittedly Chris Hemsworth is also a pretty s**t actor so I can't completely blame Portman for that). Both those things, I think are the screenwriters' or the director's fault, not Portman's Nope, Portman's (and Hemsworth's). Portman just can't develop emotion through acting. It's either turned off or over done. Unless the Director told her "Yeah, you know that lack of emotion I asked for at the start of the film? Keep it up as your character is gradually shaped into the successive anarchistic leader of V whilst you also develop feeling for said anarchist - but don't show this change in attitude or you infatuation." I can't blame the director. And in the case of Thor "f**king HIT s**t WITH A HAMMER" was about the extent of outside input with that film.
