This week, I am doing work experience and I have been lucky enough to get work experience with the local Member of Parliament (MP), Sir Paul Beresford. I have been up to Portcullis House in Westminster for the past three days now and today was my last day in Westminster. Fortunately, though, the best moment just so happened to be saved until last. Walking through Portcullis House today, I approached a door and then... through came David Cameron who said "Hi" to me!! I was slightly star-struck but I managed a "Morning" back to him

Interesting how you Americans haven't heard of him, considering how much time he spends attached to Obama's backside. Not that I blame him, we're screwed if we ever go to war with you.

Apologies, when you said "I don't know him" I thought you meant you hadn't heard of him either, but I just realised you meant you don't know him personally. My bad

He's the prime minister of the UK I believe, correct me if I'm wrong Lewis. Definitely would have been awesome to see him Yes, David Cameron is the Prime Minister of the UK (and also a load of other funny Parliamentary titles which come with being Prime Minister, like First Lord of the Treasury). Here in Britain, we have a system of devolved government in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales and the main government in England. It is a bit like in America in some ways: essentially, think of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England as states. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own "devolved" governments which are a bit like state governments, in that they have certain powers but not as many as the main government in London (which, in America, would be the federal government). England does not have a devolved government because the main government acts like an "English Parliament" because England is by far and away the largest country in the Union. David Cameron is the head of the main government. This would be like running into Obama, yeah? Sweeet Absolutely yeah. His role makes him a bit of an 'Obama Lite' or 'Diet Obama', I suppose, since America is so much more powerful than Britain. He's the prime minister of the UK I believe, correct me if I'm wrong Lewis. a c**t. Corrected that for you. Not being stereotypically northern or anything :L Lol I think he is awesome ...but maybe that has something to do with me living in a constituency in Surrey which saw a 75%+ turnout at the last election and the Tory MP won with about 60% of the vote
