Welcome to our second edition of DXX Express!
This month has seen alot of changes and un-changes to the DXX site, all will be explained below.
The Growth
The first newsletter was published with the site at 28 days old, with 43 members and almost 3,000 posts. This month has seen another great month for the site.
We now have, at the time of writing, 52 members (9 more in a month ain't too bad!) and we have over 5,400 posts. So whilst the member growth hasn't been quite as rapid, the post count has almost doubled - meaning active members now have much higher counts, and as a result are higher up the card. This bodes well for the site, as now new members will be able to work their way up the show's cards rather than being set in a slot according to roleplay ability. Obviously, someone with tons of posts but bad roleplaying won't find it as easy, but at least there is now some sort of structure in place. Well done guys - give yourselves a pat on the back for that!
E-Fed News
Currently in the E-Fed, we have one weekly show, RAW is WAR, which takes place on a Monday night. We have 21 members in the E-Fed - 12 faces and 9 heels. This is a complete flip from last month when there were 9 faces and 11 heels lol. Whilst the number is only 1 higher this month, please bear in mind that around 5 or 6 people have resigned from the E-Fed, so therefore we have a good number of new superstars in there.
Congratulations to Raiden-X, who has captured the Intercontinental Title from GAWD! This was the first official title change on the site, so congrats to Raiden-X for that honour!
Also, congratulations (and thanks) to Assassin for taking the Commissioner's role as of last night's edition of RAW is WAR. He recognised things were getting a little out of hand and I was struggling to keep track of things, so he has kindly stepped in to help shoulder the burden (so to speak) so thanks for that. All in all, we have now had 8 shows of RAW is WAR and one PPV - so it's already gone on alot longer than some E-Feds out there, and it keeps getting stronger. There was a dodgy edition last week whilst I was testing some match-writing software, but Assassin has the next version up so he is helping with that too, though some hand-written editions will still be coming from time to time.
The next E-Fed PPV will be No Mercy this Sunday, 29th October 2006. It should be a great show with some nice matches, so please read that once it's been uploaded, as I think that will be the next hand-written show.
As far as E-Fed storylines go, the feud between The New Corporation and X-Factor has continued to grow, with TNC adding Kurt Angle to their roster. We have seen some great roleplaying between Kurt and Wayne in particular - keep it up guys!
As far as new features on the E-Fed goes, we now have a profiles page, but following a couple of complaints about it we, here at DXX staff, wish to stress that this is OPTIONAL. In no way is it compulsory - sure, it helps us, but if you're truly against it then there's no need to post anything in there. The choice is yours, as I said it ain't mandatory
New Features
Dear oh dear. Long, long story.
The site featured a ton of new stuff, including being able to look words up in an online dictionary, among other things.
The skins promise was fulfilled, and various other skins were available for selection. Unfortunately, just before the RAW show was uploaded last night, something happened to the headers and footers and messed up the site's appearance, as well as slowing the place down something rotten. I've dedicated a few hours to fixing that today, including taking the site off-line for some maintentance. The site is now fixed and is running faster, but the only problem is alot of the newer features had to be removed. They may be re-added, but we'll see how things go. Other features will definitely appear soon. The different skins, however, had to be removed unfortunately.
Two new features which HAVE remained, have been the addition of the Technical Help board, where members can get account help, or general technical help if they have other problems.
We also now have a Video Games Board, where you can talk about anything to do with Video games, already with some nice reviews / reports etc on there. Enjoy them!
Staff
Congratulations must go here to DXX's only staff appointment this month, which involved the promotion of CM Punk to the staff. With GAWD's absence and Rey having school, myself and Assassin decided a new staff member was in order, and after some discussion agreed on Buzzy. Don't be disheartened - a few other names were thrown around, so more appointments may follow once the site is a little larger.
Rey offered to resign his staff position due to his heavy schedule, and as a result is now a non-staff member. He was NOT demoted, he asked to be removed from the staff for the time being, though I made it clear the position is available to him if and when he wants it back.
Graphics
We have had 2 complete graphics battle in the last month (though it is monthly - the first was completed days after the last newsletter and the second ended yesterday).
So congrats therefore to September's champion, Sandman, and October's winner, Knockout. The third graphics battle (for November 2006) will begin in a fortnight.
More great contributions have come in for graphics, and Assassin filled alot of requests during my 4 day absence to kudos to him for that - keep those entries coming in fellas As I said last month, we have a great reputation for graphics already - so let's try and improve it even more!
Member of the Month
CM Punk won the poll for MOTM for September, so well done from everyone to him. It was a close call. This month's nomination thread will be put up, most likely straight after doing this newsletter!
That's it for this month's edition!
Copies of this will be e-mailed as well as placed on the site. To check out the Newsletter area, log into the site or click here. Please feel free to leave feedback!
Take care, hope everyone is well!
