Welcome to November¡'s Newsletter of DXX Express! It¡'s been written a little early due to family and Uni constraints, so please forgive that!
GREAT month for the site this month, all will be detailed here.
The Growth
Wow. What else can I say! At the time of the last Newsletter we had 52 members and around 5,400 posts.
This month's totals have increased a lot - we have another 20 members, taking the total count to 72. Even better than that, the post count almost DOUBLED! It¡'s currently standing, at time of writing, at over 10,600 posts. Another 200 and it WOULD have doubled! Great work everyone - fantastic results, and it couldn't be done without you guys.
More and more active members are moving towards the Main Event slot on the card, and as a result competition has never been higher for the titles. We have no less than 3 or 4 people sniffing around the IC title, 2 teams vying for the Tag Titles and also a couple of people in the hunt for the WWE title. Great stuff!
E-Fed News
Currently in the E-Fed, we run one weekly show, RAW is WAR, which takes place every Monday night. In November we have 2 PPV's - Cyber Sunday, which went down well, and the upcoming Survivor Series.
We now also have 33 members in our E-Fed, which is a vast increase from last month's tally of 21. Of the 33 current members, 14 are Faces and the remaining 19 are heels, so the balance is starting to drift a little. We haven't had anyone removed from the roster this month, and have added the other 12. Welcome aboard to all the new superstars Some of you have made a great impact already!
Congratulations to the new wave of DXX Champions. In actual fact, all THREE titles have changed hands in the past month.
Wayne Gallagher stole the IC title from Raiden by default after Raiden temporarily left the E-Fed, so congrats to Wayne. Not only was he the first IC champ to make more than 1 successful defence, he has defended it 3 times in the month, making him the most successful IC champ so far in this place, and the second most successful champ in DXX history! Kudos to Wayne for that!
Samoa Joe & The Rock shocked the place by capturing the Tag Titles from former champions ICP. It was a close call, but all credit to them - Joe & The Rock haven't turned away a challenge yet, even going as far as shocking the place a second time by defeating The Ministry of Destruction - Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, in order to retain the belts. The whole tag division seems to be at some sort of war now, so where these titles lie this time in December is anyone's guess!
Edge completed the trio of title changes by taking the WWE championship from the firm grasp of former champ CM Punk. Punk is the longest reigning champ in this site's history, with 4 successful defences, holding the title for 2 months and 1 day. Edge managed to end that run, and has made an immediate impact as Champion by teaming up with former IC Champ Raiden - thus making them the most decorated tag team in DXX history to date.
Assassin has continued to do a great job in the Commissioner's office, and has really kept my head straight for a lot of the shows. He set up the DXX Match Calendar, complete with Guide to DXX, in order for people to check it out and keep up to date. I know everyone appreciates his efforts, and proved it by voting him Member of the Month - read the Member of the Month section for more details.
The next E-Fed PPV will be Survivor Series on November 26th, which funnily enough is the exact date of the real WWE Survivor Series. Check that out at the time, as some BIG changes will be coming once Survivor Series is over.
As far as the storylines go, the feud between TNC and X-Factor has continued to hot up yet again, with X-Factor managing to prise away 2 of TNC's superstars - T-Mac and Kurt Angle, turning them face as a result. TNC have responded by announcing Survivor Series' Main Event as being Assassin, Wayne, Kurt and CM Punk taking on the New Corporation - McMahon, ICP and a mystery partner. Check out the show to see who the partner will be!
In another storyline, Edge has teamed up with Raiden to form the nWo - and have already begun playing pranks around the forum on some people, including myself. Keep your eye on these two lol
New Features
The primary new features on the site consist of two new boards. The first is a Technical Help board, which allows members having some trouble with their account, or even their own forums, to ask advice and help from others. It has been a success to date, with the majority of problems having already been solved.
The second, and arguable MAIN, addition, is the DXX Records Section. Inside is a Hall of Fame, whereby people will be inducted on induction day - which will be held 4 times a year.
Also in the DXX Records you can view complete title history for the E-Fed, and can also VIEW "The Legendary Thread", and "The Iconic Thread". The ONLY people permitted to post in these threads are people reaching the top tiers of the card.
Currently there are 4 people who have posted in the Legendary Thread - McMahon, Punk, Assassin and The Undertaker, in that order. The Iconic thread was set up for people reaching their 1,500th posts, and currently McMahon is the only one to have posted in there, though by the next Newsletter I'd expect to see at least 3 more in there, if not more!
More features will be coming soon, so keep checking back!
Staff
Following a near 2 month hiatus, GAWD has been removed from the staff, though hopefully temporarily. We'd like to see him back, and if he does return his position is always open for him.
On the up side, Kane (formerly known as Rey Mysterio) was re-promoted to DXX staff. He was absent for a while due to school commitments, but was brought back into the staff board following some nice activity. Welcome back Kane!
We have also agreed the appointment of another member, who has accepted. In interests of his own enjoyment of the site though, we won't be announcing who it is just yet, for various reasons. It isn't an immediate appointment, though he will be being promoted soon.
On a personal note, thanks go out to Assassin, Punk and Kane for some valuable inputs into the staff board. I couldn't keep the site running without your help, and as always you're doing a marvellous - and often, underthanked (I know lol) - job.
Graphics
With November's Graphics competition still being in progress, no winners to announce yet, largely due to this Newsletter being compiled early. There are some lovely entries though, and by the next Newsletter we can announce November's winner, and possibly December's.
REMEMBER: In December, we have a Graphic of the Year 2006 competition, so check that out as only the best of the best graphics from previous competitions will make it. In other words, this year's will be fought out between 4 graphics, 2 of which are already definite in Sandman's September winner and Knockout's erm....knockout in October
Some more great graphics have been submitted, and also a lot of requests filled. I know I fell a little behind with them earlier in the month, and I apologise for that - kudos to Punk for giving me the kick up the backside I needed!
Member of the Month
Congrats go out to October's Member of the Month, Assassin, who snagged the title from CM Punk. Kurt Angle was second in the poll, losing out by only 2 or 3 votes. Unlucky Kurt - maybe next month
This is Assassin's first time being member of the month, congratulations on reaching that!
As always, copies of this newsletter will be both posted on the site, and e-mailed. To check out the Newsletter area, click here. Please feel free to leave feedback!
Hope everyone is doing well, take care and I'll speak to you soon!
